Executive Director - Happy New Year Message

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents and staff for their increased vigilance with COVID that has allowed us to continue our routine at Newmark. We have had minimal disruptions given the height of increased COVID activity statewide.

The COVID Activity Report on the state level has turned our region into the RED designation which means very high levels of COVID activity in the community. We continue to follow all our in-school protocol and have minimized student trips outside of the building along with modifying some afterschool programs.

Parents have been very helpful in reporting positive COVID cases to our school nurse, Eileen Carroll, and our covid@newmarkeducation.com email. In order to best determine quarantine timelines please be prepared to provide our school staff with the following information:

  • Date child tested positive or was a close contact
  • Date of symptom onset, if known
  • If close contact lives with student, isolation protocol in your home

Please VIEW CDC Guidance on how to handle in house contacts.

Students are eligible for Live Remote Learning if they meet the following criteria:

  • The student has been identified as a close contact within school, at an outside of school activity or in the home and is quarantined
  • The student has COVID-like symptoms and is excluded from school while awaiting test results
  • The student has tested positive for COVID and has recovered but is still within the 10-day isolation period

Finally, we want to let everyone know that Newmark is committed to being onsite and open daily. Our current circumstances allow us to do that and our staff continues to make this happen!   With COVID, we realize things change overnight but our goal will always remain to continue to provide academic and emotional support and stability to all our students and their families.

We appreciate your patience and understanding and support as we continue to navigate through this pandemic.
