2026-27 Water Bottle Policy

 

At The Newmark School and Newmark High School, we encourage all students to stay hydrated throughout the school day. To support both wellness and safety, we have established the following water bottle guidelines effective July 1, 2026.

What Students May Bring
Students are welcome to bring a lightweight, BPA-free plastic water bottle that includes:

• A flip-top or soft straw lid
• A secure, leak-resistant design
• The student’s name clearly labeled

What Is Not Permitted
For safety and sensory considerations, the following are not allowed:

• Metal or stainless steel bottles
• Glass bottles
• Hard insulated bottles of any kind

Why This Policy Is in Place
Our school environment includes academic, therapeutic and social-emotional supports. Hard or metal bottles can:

• Pose a safety risk if dropped or misused
• Create loud noises that may be disruptive or distressing for some students
• Be difficult to supervise during transitions and unstructured times

By using lightweight plastic bottles, we help maintain a calm, safe and supportive learning space for everyone.

Refilling Water
Students may refill their bottles at designated water stations throughout the day.
