    Specialisiterne held a Pre-Employment Program Workshop at Newmark this week with representatives from Currey Ingram Academy, Vanderbilt University and NYU ASD Nest.
     
    Part of the program included a preview of Newmark’s pre-employment robotics program hosted in the summer ESY program. Mr. Pearson and three students demonstrated the skills and knowledge gained from being involved in such a program.

  • #ENOUGH - National School Walkout

    In support of the growing protest movement over gun violence, Newmark High School students walked out of school today for 17 minutes in a nationwide demonstration. The 17 minutes represented one minute for each of the victims gunned down in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. 

    This student-led protest marked the first of its kind at Newmark. According to one of the students organizers, "We just want to start a constructive conversation."

    Give My Regards to Broadway ... and along the way Newmark High School students wowed the audience with song and dance numbers from The Wizard of Oz, Annie, Dear Evan Hanson, Grease and the Odd Couple, as well as clever original productions showcasing Newmark's hidden (and not so hidden) talents!  This year Director, Jen Goodman of Jamm Jen also explored the history of the songs and integrated narrators for the skits. "Our students sang about challenging situations, like feeling alone and not a part of the crowd ... and learned how to express these emotions.  The students blew the audience away," shared Ms. Goodman.

    The NHS Variety Show is scheduled for Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10:00 AM.  
     
    We realize this may pose a problem for some families.  Unfortunately, we have very limited options to reschedule this performance due to the Future Business Leaders (FBLA) Conference in Atlantic City this Thursday and Friday, the potential winter storm on Wednesday and other Newmark facility scheduled events.
