Newmark K–8 School provides each student with an appropriate education based upon their Individualized Education Plan (IEP), developed by the student’s school district in accordance with New Jersey Administrative Code 6A:14. The integration of the New Jersey Learning Standards is applied to individual students as appropriate within their IEP. Newmark K–8 School is committed to ensuring that students are appropriately challenged through a rigorous curriculum.

We believe in a highly structured environment that encourages and allows students to take an active role in their own learning. The student is at the center of the learning process. We look to empower students to take greater responsibility for their own learning in a resource rich environment.

Our goal is to provide meaningful application for students to learn the skills needed to become lifelong learners.

These skills include self-assessment, both academically and emotionally, goal setting, developing and implementing action plans and utilizing resource materials. We give students and teachers the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment that encourages academic risk-taking, collaboration and reflection in pursuit of goals that reflect high academic standards.

Classrooms are student-centered, learner- active environments with state-of-the-art technology as a part of each subject. Students use the computer as a tool in their daily learning.
