After School Clubs

NHS "Virtual" After School Clubs 2020-21 Session Dates:

  • Session II: Begins week of November 30, 2020 through week of January 25, 2021
  • Session III: Begins week of February 16, 2021 through week of March 31, 2021
  • Session IV: Begins week of April 19, 2021 through week of May 27, 2021

NHS After School Clubs - Session IV

During the 2020-2021 school year, Newmark High School offers Clubs and Programs through our remote learning structure, Microsoft 365 Teams. Remote programs will be facilitated by the Newmark Staff members detailed below on the day listed.

Session IV will start the week of April 19, 2021 and will run thru the week of May 27, 2021. After School Clubs and Programs remotely will begin at 3:15 PM – 4:15 PM.

**Registration for Session IV opens Friday, March 19, 2021.




Session IV (Tuesday): 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25                                          
Session IV (Wednesday): 4/21, 4/28, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 5/26 
DESCRIPTION: Virtual Cooking Club will focus on having students come together and learn how to make dishes using common pantry ingredients from the comfort of their own kitchens! Each week, a student can have the option to be a guest presenter, walking the club through the recipe steps. Students do not have to make each recipe during the sessions, but of course have the option to do so with parent permission. Session IV: 4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25
DESCRIPTION: Strategy Games Club will allow students to bond with their peers while playing a wide variety of strategic board games online. Strategic board games promote learning, unlock thinking skills, and stimulate brain development. The games that will promote critical thinking skills and strategy like Dungeons and Dragons, 7 Wonders, Dominion, Settlers of Catan etc. These games promote team building, communication and attention to detail. Strategy Based Games will have students learn and understand varying levels of advanced tactics that they will employ in either a team or individual setting.  Students will have the opportunity to provide pre-approved games from home to share with their peers. Everyone has their favorite games but learning new games and being open to new games is the best attitude for gaining new skills and making memories together. The goal of this club is to develop bonds with peers while increasing their critical thinking and communication skills.

DESCRIPTION: Through the virtual guidance of staff members, Community Service Club students will be exploring the needs of their local communities. Students will be researching, contacting local organizations, and developing customized projects based on their interest and community needs. Depending on what project each student selects, parents may be asked to assist their child in gathering, preparing or delivering items. In addition to our individual projects, students will learn about community issues locally, regionally and globally. Questions? Please email Ms. Hartman –



Due to high demand, Newmark High School will now be offering two sessions of the Minecraft Club. 
The Wednesday session will be for Junior and Senior students
The Thursday session will be for Freshmen and Sophomore students. 
The parents of invited students will receive an email with directions of when and how to register.

DESCRIPTION:  Microsoft Minecraft is the most popular video game that has ever been released.  It enhances creativity, problem-solving, self-direction, collaboration, and other life skills.  Newmark High School Students will be able to collaborate, interact, and create with one another on within private sever.  Along with a staff member, student will play different games and compete in different weekly activities.  Before registering, please understand participating students must own the Minecraft Java Edition and have it downloaded.   Questions? Session IV: 4/22, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13, 5/20, 5/27               
DESCRIPTION: The Multi-Media After School Club is by invitation only and provides students with an opportunity to develop and prepare a digital portfolio or demo reel for college applications or personal use.  Through virtual instruction, students will be introduced to advanced concepts in Graphic Design, Photo and Video Production, and 2D/3D Animation.
