K-8 After School Clubs 2022-23  Session Dates:

  • Session I: Begins week of September 19, 2022 through November 9, 2022
  • Session II: Begins week of November 28, 2022  through January 26, 2023
  • Session III: Begins week of February 13, 2023 through March 30, 2023
  • Session IV: Begins week of April 24, 2023  through June 1, 2023

2022-23 NHS After School Clubs & Programs Preview

Newmark High School offers a variety of After School Clubs and Programs to meet the age, interests and needs of our students. Activities are offered for 4 sessions, with each session running 6 to 9 weeks in length.
 

  • Onsite: Clubs/Programs will begin directly after school and end at 3:30 PM or 4:00 PM. Parents are responsible for picking up their teen promptly at dismissal.
  • Virtual: Clubs/Programs will start at 3:15 PM via Microsoft Teams invite and will end at 4:15 PM.

 Pay by check or credit card ($3.00) fee.

Session III - Registration Open

ROLL FOR ADVENTURE (D&D) | $75 per session | MONDAYS | VIRTUAL
Session III: 2/13/23, 2/27/23,  3/6/23, 3/13/23, 3/20/23, 3/27/23 (no club 2/20/23 – Winter Recess)
Open to all NHS students.  Minimum: 6 participants 
Description: Students will engage in an adventure through Dungeons and Dragons, developing a greater understanding of the rules while within an engaging and enjoyable environment. Students will create their own characters and work collaboratively through an imaginative, fantastical world. Roll For Adventure Club will start virtually at 3:15 PM and will end at 4:15 PM.

COMMUNITY SERVICE CLUB | $75 per session | WEDNESDAYS | ONSITE

Open to all NHS students.  Minimum: 8 participants  
Description: The Community Service Club is designed to give students an appreciation and understanding of community and global concerns. The Club is project-based and student-driven which enables students to grow in ways that enrich their lives as individuals, as members of local communities and as citizens of the global community. Community Service Club will begin immediately after school and will end at 4:00 PM. Prompt pick-up is appreciated.

ART WORKSHOP | $125 per session | THURSDAYS | ONSITE

Open to all NHS students.  Minimum: 4 participants 
Description: The purpose of the Art Workshop after school club is to allow high school students the opportunity to explore their interests in Art. Students will work with their choice of medium to cultivate their skills and to enhance their learning. More serious artists, who plan to pursue art as a path to higher education, are encouraged to join this club to begin developing a work portfolio. Art Workshop will begin immediately after school and will end at 4:00 PM. Prompt pick-up is appreciated.

FBLA | $75 per session | THURSDAYS | ONSITE

Open to all NHS FBLA students.  Minimum: 4 participants 
Description:  FBLA, Future Business Leaders of America is the premier student business organization in the world. With over 200,00 members nationally, FBLA prepares students for careers in business and business related fields through numerous contests, competitions and community service activities. Newmark is happy to offer an After School Club that will support and prepare the Newmark FBLA team for the yearly FBLA activities. The Club will focus on presentation techniques and competition strategies. FBLA Club will be offered during Sessions II and III only and is mandatory for students participating in FBLA competitions. FBLA Club will begin immediately after school and will end at 4:00 PM. Prompt pick-up is appreciated.

NEW! VOICE ACTING CLUB | $150 per session | TUESDAYS | ONSITE
Session IV:  4/25/23, 5/2/23, 5/9/23, 5/16/23, 5/23/23, 5/30/23 
Open to all NHS students.  Maximum: 12 participants 
Description:   Newmark is excited to bring a new opportunity for students in the Session IV afterschool club.  Voice Acting Club will give students the chance to learn about and practice the art of voice acting.  With the development of new technologies, it has become easier than ever to individuals to take part in this ever growing field.  Instructing this club will be Ms. Beth Painter, owner, and operator of the Contagious Drama Workshop throughout the tristate area.  Working as a stage actress for over 20 years, Ms. Painter has a wealth of knowledge that will engage and teach participating students.  Students will learn not only different dramatic techniques but some strategies they can use to practice/develop their craft.  Beyond voice acting, Ms. Painter will also integrate some other popular stage acting and improvisational practices. Voice Acting will begin immediately after school and will end at 4:00 PM. Prompt pick-up is appreciated.

FUNDAMENTALS OF BBQ COOKING CLUB | $125 per session | TUESDAYS | ONSITE  
Session IV: 4/25/23, 5/2/23, 5/9/23, 5/16/23, 5/23/23, 5/30/23 
Open to all NHS students.  Minimum: 4 participants; Maximum – 6 participants 
Description: The BBQ Cooking Club will focus on having students come together and learn how to make dishes using a grill as the main cooking method! Each week, students will be working outside to learn how to grill different types of meat, vegetables, fruits, and even desserts and side dishes while learning how to use a grill safely. Students will also work on their cutting and other fundamental cooking skills in a safe, socially-distanced environment. BBQ Cooking will begin immediately after school and will end at 4:00 PM. COMPUTER & TECHNOLOGY CLUB | $75 per session | TUESDAYS | ONSITE

Open to all NHS students.  Minimum: 6 participants 
Description:  The new club will bring 21st century learning concepts to students through the teaching of the different parts of computers, how to build computers, how to properly install and update necessary software.  In the Computers and Technology Club, students will learn about the different parts of computers, how they work and learn how to build them.  Students will use computer parts (provided by Newmark) to put together fully functional computers.  Once the computers are built, students will learn how to install operating systems and any necessary software.  Finally, students will be encouraged to bring their own technology questions and/or problems to the club in order to promote collaboration and learning.   Computer & Technology Club will begin immediately after school and will end at 4:00 PM. Open to all NHS students.  Minimum: 4 participants 
Description: RC Cars have been an enthusiast hobby for many years.  Newmark High School students will have the opportunity to engage with their peers in this lifelong hobby.  During this club, students will learn how to drive and fix RC Cars and create tracks fun and challenging tracks.  Students do not need to have their own RC car to participate in this club, cars will be provided to use by Newmark. RC Cars Clubs will begin immediately after school and will end at 4:00 PM. Prompt pick-up is appreciated.

  2. Register online to pay by credit card ($3.00 fee), check payable to Newmark School or cash (Checks/cash can be sent in to Main Office).
  3. Register early - space is limited!

NHS Teen Night Socials

After School activity for students to socialize and be active together in the gym, game room and cafe. Snacks and drinks my be purchased for a nominal fee.
From 2:15-4:30 PM.  $20 fee per date.
