High School
Newmark High School is a state approved, not-for-profit, private school for children, ages fourteen to twenty-one (14-21), with learning and/or behavioral difficulties.
The primary mission of Newmark High School is to create opportunities for all students to reach high levels of academic, social and emotional performance.
Our goal is to provide meaningful opportunity for students to learn the skills needed to become lifelong learners.
These skills include self-assessment, both academically and emotionally, goal setting, developing and implementing action plans and utilizing resource materials. We give students and teachers the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment that encourages academic risk-taking, collaboration and reflection in pursuit of goals that reflect high academic standards.
Classrooms are student-centered, learner- active environments with state-of-the-art technology as a part of each subject. Students use the computer as a tool in their daily learning.
Before we found Newmark, we wondered if Clara would ever fit in anywhere. At Newmark, she found a home. Clara's self-esteem has blossomed by being challenged and allowed to grow in this nurturing environment. We see it in the enthusiasm she brings to her job at Chili's. Now, we are all thrilled about her future at Beacon College. We owe an enormous debt of gratitude to all of Clara's teachers and the support staff who've worked with her over the years, and of course to the three of you, who make Newmark the special place it is.
