Session II - Remote
During Session II of the 2020-2021 school year Newmark will offer Clubs and Programs through our remote learning structure, Microsoft 365 Teams. Remote programming will be facilitated by the Newmark staff member as detailed below on the designated day listed.
Session II will start the week of November 30, 2020 and runs thru the week of January 25, 2021. After School Clubs and Programs will begin at 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM.

JAMMIN’ JENN AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM | JAMMIN’ JENN | $25 per session | MONDAYS

ELIGIBLE CLASSROOMS: ALL
Description: Over the course of this session, your child will participate in a music club that has a unique and direct link to that place inside of us where feelings and one’s true thoughts exist. Singing and songwriting can communicate these feelings. The focus of the Jammin’ Jenn music therapy club is songwriting and recording music. Jammin’ Jenn students will record songs as a form of accomplishment and creativity. Jammin’ Jenn will work on self-expression, self-esteem, as well as write theme-related songs. Jammin Jenn is no stranger to working remotely with her students. Jammin Jenn will engage and amaze via Teams.

ADVANCED ART | MR. SYKES | $25 per session | TUESDAYS

DESCRIPTION: Advanced Art with Mr. Sykes is a fantastic way for students to express themselves as well as channel their creative juices and talents into a tangible object. The therapeutic act of making art is beneficial to students in itself and the experience of creating something that they are proud of is priceless. The focus of Advanced Art is to learn more about art and enhance drawing skills. The focus of this program will be on the technical skills of drawing and sketching. Through Microsoft Teams students will practice drawing from life and review the elements of art along with the principles of design.

Description: Students will be introduced to a variety of new games where they will develop an understanding of rules within an engaging and enjoyable environment. Students will work collaboratively through fantastical worlds like Dungeons and Dragons, as well as learn the value of partaking in friendly competition during card games

Description: Microsoft Minecraft is an educational game-based learning platform that promotes creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in an immersive digital environment. It enhances creativity, problem-solving, self-direction, collaboration, and other life skills. Virtually, Microsoft Minecraft complements reading, writing, math, and even history learnings. Importantly, Minecraft also instills business principles, STEM knowledge, and a global perspective.
